I need a macbook for work, and I need it within a week. (Long story). I've been looking at a store-bought rMBP 2013 but ran into a good deal on the 2012 model from a private seller. The question is, what should I be aware of about the 2012 models to make sure I don't get a bad deal?

I'm asking if there are any known problems with the 2012 rMBP models (overheating, poor desktop gfx performance, creaking, dud copies?) that I should check for or be aware of. I've researched a bunch but it's all disparate sources and hard to know whether to trust them so I thought I'd ask you guys :)

Also, apart from the 10-15% processor performance decrease vs the new models, any "hidden" differences you think I might have missed?

Many thanks!

Probably image retention if that's your thing.

Otherwise they're all pretty much excellent.
