looking to buy dvd burner

I got a macbook for christmas and am looking for a dvd burner for it. I'm looking to go the external route bc i don't do that many dvds, however I do need to make movies every now and then and the cd burner wont burn dvds. Any ideas on a reasonably priced external dvd burner for my mac?

Did you buy a refurb or clearance then? Because all current models of the Macbook have contained DVD burners since October 08.

yeah...your Macbook has a perfectly capable 8x Dual Layer DVD-/+RW drive.

Why do you need an external? Maybe you just need some better software to do what you want? (of course we don't know what that is)

Toast or Burn are nice programs to use outside of the built in capabilities of OS X
