Sold my Mac Pro (4,1) this morning and I'm looking to order a Retina iMac 27" with i7 processor, 8-gig RAM (will add 16 more) 512-SSD,and 2-gig graphics card this week.
B&H Photo has it for $3050, no tax, and free shipping. Any better deals?

Considering that you're maxing it out already, why not get the M295X?

The heat and throttling issues are overhyped. I've an M295X coupled with an i7 and it runs really cool except in intensive tasks, but it still runs smooth.

I will be using the iMac-r for Photoshop/Lightroom work, only. A 2-gig video card is more than enough.

If you want an even better deal then be patient and look at Apple Refurbished on their website. Retina iMacs are becoming available and there is no downside to an Apple refurb. Virtually identical to new, same warranty and also eligible for AppleCare.

Agreed, M290X is great for Photoshop and Lightroom doesn't even use GPU. The 2Gb GPU is really good for these tasks.

Buy a 4GB GPU if doing video editing, I've been running out of memory using Resolve and Final Cut with a @GB graphics card.
