So I do a lot of work using ms office at my work pc and I'm looking to get ms office 2011 for my mac for when I want to do some work at home.

How closely does mac word mirror pc word in terms of document formatting and page layout??? I hate using pages and having to save as a word doc. The formatting gets messed around all the time.

Formatting/page layouts its going to be nearly identical. I think once in a blue moon, I spotted a minor difference going from Mac Office to Office for Windows.

It depends on the complexity. I've never had any problems butdont get involved in complex formatting. I help my brother with real estate brochures which ar graphic intensive and they transfer with no problems.

If your company has an enterprise license for Office, you may be eligible for the Home Use Program. You can get a full copy for $10.
