Looking to make a animated desktop item.

I remember when I was a windows user this was generally easy to do, you could take a .gif and place it as a animated object on the desktop, is there any way to do this in OSX? I have GeekTool but it justs shows a static image. :/

I think gifbuider will do what you want:

Check it out first though, because I have only ever used it for Avatars and NOT for desktop items.
