I am running a late 2012 with a fusion drive and am thinking about a 512 SSD drive. I do a lot of videos, and have a 4tb thunderbolt gdrive for my FCPX libraries and 12Tb usb 3 raid.

Is their a performance big performance difference between the SSD and the fusion when working with videos?

Considering you already have a lot of external storage already you should benefit from the extra speed boost an SSD provides.

Yes, you would notice a difference editing large files.
