Looks like I am getting a 4S...

Well, originally, I was not going to get a 4S for two reasons: didn't feel it was much different from 4 and I am not qualified to upgrade for another four months...so I was just going to wait till the next one! Then, my dad said that his line qualifies for an upgrade and that I could get a 4S through his account and he would use my 4! As soon as he said that, I didn't even think for a moment and shouted "YES"! :D

I cannot wait now. Just ordered it yesterday so it will be later this month. Hope they have jailbreak out by then! :)

Why did you pre order? You probably could go into a Apple store and get one up front Friday night or Saturday.

The next two weeks is pretty packed for me so I won't be able to go to a store! I am ok with the wait! :) Plus, my parents are heading back to their place tomorrow so they won't be here to go with me to a store.
 
I forgot to add that since I won't be using my upgrade when time comes, I could use it as soon as the next iPhone gets released! :D
 
Further proof that upgrade eligibility can take a phone from a mere "spec bump" to a full fledged new gotta-have-it opportunity.

Gotta love it.
 
I'm in a similar position. I wasn't due for an upgrade, and I've got a 4 so I figured I'd sit this round out.

Then I found out my mom is due for an upgrade and she doesn't mind if I use it. Sold my iP4 and I'll be coming out ahead by getting the 4S :D

Heh - I have 5 phones on my family plan, so since dad pays for the phones, dad gets to use the upgrades (except mom's of course!) and hand down the old phones! I ordered the 4S and my daughter is getting my 4. :)

I'm using my Dad's upgrade also, but he likes his dumb phone so no loss there. And getting to use my upgrade next summer was my plan too.
