Per the subject, my 7th gen iPad is about to lose major iPadOS support with iPadOS 26. Part of me thinks I should sell it ASAP. I use my Mac way more than my iPad, any reason I should keep it? I also have a logitech combo case on it, but I don't do too much with it today.

Thanks.

That's one of the reasons I moved to a Mini 7 in November last year. My 7th gen iPad is still in excellent condition and I have two cheap cases for it (one keyboard, one regular), so I'm keeping it as a backup Kindle/web surfer, basically.

I'm in the same boat. I was about to install the dev beta on it as I don't want to risk my phone. I say the profile for iPad OS 26 Dev Beta so enabled that but saw no update to download. I then read the supported models :'( It still a good iPad though (a little slow at time) but I still use for the News+ food, working on the web etc.

Looks like all support for 3GB devices has come to an end. iPhone XR etc….

EDIT: I stand corrected because the 8th and 9th Gen are 3GB TOO!

That is so not true. A12/A13 iPad Air, Mini and 8/9th Gen iPads have 3GB of RAM, not to mention SE2020 and they all run OS 26.

Only 7th Gen iPad and A12 iPhones don’t get it
