Sounds like chpwn has been working on UI improvements for Cydia which will be out in the next release. Fingers crossed.

The problem with this is that Rock achieved its speed and lack of data refresh errors, etc., by taking shortcuts which had the potential to cause serious problem -- in many cases even requiring complete restores. Personally, I am reassured by the knowledge that Saurik will not sacrifice stability and APT-compliance for a smoother user experience.

Am I missing something? It just looks like the home screen has moved things around and added. The UI looks identical still.
