I just noticed today that I can move the top of my back plate just a tiny bit in each direction (left and right). Is this normal? Does everyone's phone do this?

The back plate should not move under any circumstances. Have Apple take care of it.

It is such a tiny movement. I didn't notice it on my iPhone 4, but it honestly could have been the same way. If you grab the sides up top by the camera it moves like 1/2mm in either direction.

if its that bothersome, take it to apple and see if they can replace it for you.

How could it be bothersome:confused:

How could a loose back plate be bothersome?

Things that aren't solid generally feel cheap and can be distracting. Apple prides themselves on build quality (so they say) and excellent materials, whats the point if they don't fit together right?

Yep I noticed this On my black 64gb Verizon 4s. Never noticed before. But it does move a bit near the top of the back. I've had an incipio cases on it the whole time and a zagg for the back and front. It's a bit annoying but I can love with it and I'm very OCD about my stuff but you can only notice it if you flip it over. I'm on vacation now so I might have my apple store check it when I get back

The back isn't designed to come off (well it IS, but not by the end user), so there should be no give to it whatsoever. I +1 the "take it back" sentiment.

Just tighten the bottom screws with a 5-point screwdriver.

Mine comes off completely because I haven't put screws in :p

This happened to me with my iPhone 4. Took it in to the Apple store and they just tightened the screws on the bottom...if you've got the proper screwdriver you can probably do it yourself.
