Okay what is wrong with this picture?

As a switcher from PC laptops to OSX and Apple MBPs, I have lost ground on convenience.

My point is that the Dell laptop with docking station vs the MB or MBP with a bunch of cables is a PIA.

Now with the “Late 2008 MBP” and the mini-display port we have really lost ground.

I dream of a well thought out MBP docking design that would make the product competitive in a business environment. The Dell people dock and undock at will and enjoy workstation like performance at their desks and laptop portability with out jacking with cables and adapters.

I agree a docking station is long overdue.

I somewhat circumvented the clutter by running all the cables through my monitor. I run the Mini DP, LCD USB and the power cable. A poor solution/alternative.
