Hey everyone,

The hinge on the screen of my mid 2012 MBP 15 in retina is loose in the sense that it won't stay at the same degree of extension/flexion and will wingle if i pick up or change laptop. Is there any way for me to fix or tighten the screen hinges to the point where the screen will stay at the same angle even if I pick it up/change positions?

I couldn't find anything specific on ifixit. unfortunately, i didn't get the extended warranty.

Thank you

I would give taking it into an Apple Store a shot. It could be as simple as just needing some screws tightened on it (which they should do for free).

I actually took it to the apple store a few weeks ago and the screws were tightened but they told me that the hinge was loose within the black part of the hinge/display and would require a full display replacement. Wondering if there was any other recourse?
