Loose lid latch on Powerbook G4 15"

Has anyone tried getting the play out of the lid on the 15" Powerbook G4?

When mine is closed it doesn't hold tight. I am wondering if a drop of epoxy could be put on the top of the hook on the lid latch to make it clip tighter against the metal latch on the base. The hook is pretty flimsy though so it would have to be pretty precise as to not put tension on the hook, just to absorb the slack between the two surfaces.

I was also thinking of attempting to convert the latch into the magnetic type that the unibody MBP has.

Any thoughts or insights are welcome.

The epoxy thing might work. As for making the latch all magnetic. I don't think so. There is hardly any room in the LCD frame for some magnets and just as little in the palm rest.

This seems to be a common problem with ageing powerbooks, I should know because my latch doesen't hold either. I can get it to shut sometimes if I am forceful enough but I don't want to really do anymore harm so I'm pretty much used to it now.
