Hi all,

I have an 8th generation iPad that really has a loose socket (not sure if that's the right word? it's where you put the lightning cable in). I know dust etc in the socket is a common problem, and I tried the toothpick / compressed air thing (really carefully), but I still have lots of wobbling with the cable and no charging.

I've been wondering what to do (short of having the dock exchanged). Are there a type / manufacturer of cables that maybe are a bit sturdier / thicker that I could try? Or other ideas / suggestions?

Thanks
Peter

If you are sure there is not dust or lint in the connector it could be a hardware issue. Your cable should be inserted and “click” into place when seated. Is this happening? If it is loose, something is wrong. Maybe get Apple to take a look if you have a store near you. All male lightning connector are the same so finding a “thicker” one is not an option.
