Can anybody give me a step by step help on how to get BFME2 on my mac? I've downloaded CrossOver, and still can't seem to get it to work. I own the actual disk for BFME2, so it is not downloaded.
- Insert your Battle for Middle Earth 2 DVD/CD
- Run Crossover
- Configure menu - Install Software
- Choose "Unsupported Applications" - Other Application
- Make sure the install program is chosen as the installer file
- Name the "bottle" it will create something useful so you can remember it.
- Install the game.
- Crossover will do it's thing to finish when the game install is done.
- Once it is done, download the latest patch for the game. Run that using "Programs" - Run Command... and use the Browse to navigate to the patch file. Make sure the bottle you created for the game is chosen in the list at the top of this dialog.
- After patching, you'll have to go search for a "no-cd crack" for the game for it to actually play. The disc check will not work from inside Crossover. Make sure the cracked version matches the version of the patch level you have installed. I don't think I'm allowed to tell you where to get it directly on this forum.
I've been able to play the game this way. I use medium settings on most everything since my Mac is an early 2008 model. I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks for the help, but I'm still having some problems. I've installed the game, but I just can't get it to run since I need the "cd". Where am I actually supposed to place the crack?
