Losing sms tone and notifications alerts?

randomly i don't hear my text messages, i get no sound. to fix this i have to turn the phone off and on, does earphone use have somethin to do with this?

If your earphones are plugged in, the notification sound would be sent to the ear phones. When they are not in, it would go through the main speaker.

When you don't hear it, are the earbuds plugged in?

Also, be sure your notification sounds are set correctly in Settings > Sounds.
