Loss of Entourage database

I'm using MS Office 2004.

The Database used to be 141 MB.
Then it went down to 18 MB and all the Entourage data (all emails, account settings, etc) was no longer available.

Any ideas how I can restore the database?

I can use a back-up but that was done some time ago. I'd like to restore the recent information.

Hmm... Maybe try rebuilding your database by launching Entourage whilst holding OPTION and selecting your identity from the list before pressing the Rebuild Database button.

Hi. Not sure if this will help, but a similar thing has happened to me twice. If Mad_Jew's suggestion doesn't work, I restored my 'lost' database on each occasion by doing:

1. Identify where the database is.
2. Do File > Import > <your database>
3. After Importing it, close Entourage
4. Re-open it
5. Hopefully, Hey presto!, it will be back and functioning.

I cannot remember if I deleted my Entourage preference file beforehand. Hmm. Sorry.
