Hi All,

Brand new iPhone 6 running 8.1.1. Weird thing happened the other day, I connected it to WiFI for the first time and after checking it in a few hours I noticed I lost ~300MB of storage space? Anyone know what behind the scenes sorcery Apple is trying to pull?

Did it download the 8.1.3 update? However, when I check the Software Update page, it still shows "Download & Install" and not just "Install" (indicating that it had already downloaded the update)..

Hi - there is likely a bunch of caching going on. Perhaps even memory using up the space. Things like the Photo Stream cache, etc. Perhaps even applications using up storage.

I wouldn't be too concerned..

I don't think it's any applications because i checked the Usage MB before and after connecting to WiFi and they were the same...

Any other thoughts?

Happens to me from time to time. Goes into the "other" storage of iOS. It will randomly come back one day.
