lost ability to stream video with safari on new intel imac

Help, Internet streaming video problems on new Intel imac
Hello,
I was able to view video content on certain sites this morning with just my native software and safari browser.

Then I tried to view a video on hgtv.com site and couldn't do it so...
I tried to download video software (realplayer and flash)

Now I can't view any videos or see any media content on my computer.
It just says get plug in or a window comes up saying I can't view the content.

Anyone know how to stream all video content on this brand new intel imac??
