ok folks. Picked up my X today. The Apple store employee took it upon herself to get my watch synced before I left the store. Nice, but I lost my activity for the day. I know how to trick the exercise and move rings, but how do I get the stand ring to show the true hours???? Any suggestions? I’ve been perfect for over 860 days!

I had this problem with the iPhone 8. It ended up syncing after a day or two. I also purchased the iPhone X and I am having the same problem again.

The same here. I lost my info about Thursday and Friday. Why? Is it possible to recover it?

Did you first unpair your :apple:Watch right before you got the new iPhone and then backup to iCloud (or iTunes encrypted)? This gives you an up to the minute backup. Your last backup is you latest known info (not when you buy) and just like your iPhone this is where the new :apple:Watch gets it's current data from.

Agree with Julien, as long as you unpaired your watch it would have backed up at that point. After setting up my new X it did take a while to completely sync the data. I was getting a little worried for a couple of hours as a week of data wasn't there yet, but it did eventually show up! :)

I'm missing portions of two days of Health/Activity data despite unpairing the Watch and backing up to iCloud before restoring the backup to my new iPhone and re-pairing.

Losing that data ended up killing a 670-day Move streak, so I'm a bit pissed off.

The weird bit is all that missing data still shows up on my old iPhone. I have Health data set up to sync to iCloud, but it's just not doing it right. At all.

I called Apple Support and got this escalated to a senior adviser. Their engineering team is now looking into what might be wrong.

Could be unrelated to the backup. I lost my 600ish day Move streak when for some unknown reason The Activity app decided to change my July 7 to this.:(

In for info, thanks!
[doublepost=1509792464][/doublepost]What’s the sequence? (Using iTunes) Back up old phone, unpair watch, restore to new phone, pair old watch? I lost my entire activity from day one and all my “awards”

Thanks for any tips

Thanks for any tips

1) iTunes, you MUST check the 'Encrypted Backup' box
2) Un-Pair :apple:Watch
3) Backup old iPhone to iTunes
4) Restore new iPhone from iTunes
5) Pair :apple:Watch to new iPhone

how long does the previous activity show up on your new phone?

1. I did a new back up with the Encrypted Backup box checked
2. Restored my X from that back up
3. Repaired my Gen 3 Watch
4. Still nothing

*My Gen 3 has been unpaired to my old 7+ and paired to my X, but not sure why that would be an issue, since the activity and workout is still shoing up on my 7+

Sorry OP to hijack your thread, but I can see there are already multiple posts on this subject.

Thanks for any suggestions:

Do I need to re-pair my Gen 3 back to my 7+ and then do an Encrypted Backup, then Restore my X, then Pair my Gen 3 to my X?
[doublepost=1509808532][/doublepost]I followed some of these steps, but hopefully when everything is all transferred, I will have my activity back.

I concur with this. Due to privacy issues Activity data is only synced when encrypted backups are selected.

I eventually got it to sync by keep turning off and on health in iCloud settings. I did this on my iPhone X and 8+ and after a few times everything synced over.

Do you mind detailing what you did to turn on and off the health settings?

Thank you!

Thank you, even though I backed up using iTunes, I did go to my old 7 and had my X next to it, doing the on and off iCloud of the health and finally got my previous activity on my X.... To be honest, I am not sure what "fixed it" just glad it worked. Thanks everyone

Cycling iCloud sync settings for Health data on and off on both my X and 6 didn't fix this. Health data is still out of sync between the two devices.

"It just works"

Edit to update

After a few days, iCloud finally sorted its issues out on its own and synced up my Health data. It also restored my 675-day Move streak in the Activity app. No idea why this happened in the first place, but it appears to be sorted now.

You didn’t hijack the thread.... The Apple store person who helped me set up my phone, reset my watch. As we all NOW know, you need to unpair the puppy, which I did with my other watch and repair it with the new phone. You can then set it up with a backup, and not loose any data...all is well...
