I swear I had this bookmarked at one point but since I can't remember it it's pretty difficult to search for. I'm hoping if I describe it, someone here will remember it and have a link or more info.

Here's what I recall:
  • It appeared to be a machined aluminum stand, about the same size and form factor as a unibody MacBook Pro (fairly thin and flat).
  • I'm fairly sure it served as an enclosure for at least one 3.5" hard drive.
  • As to look/design, think of something like a unibody Apple product or an IOSafe portable (although the unit I remember looked more like a cooling pad and did not look portable).
  • For some reason, I'm thinking it was made/sold from Australia, but I could be wrong about this.
  • It was expensive.
  • The company had a website (it may have just been a prototype, but it wasn't merely on a design blog or the like).

I know it's not much to go on - this being a design-oriented crowd, I'm hoping someone else knows what I'm talking about.

Any help?
