Weird thing happened with my wife's ipad (gen 1, 32GB ATT 3G). I noticed it said No Signal for the cellular connection which was unusual in our home. Restarted it and it went into DFU mode. Tried to restore to prior version 4.3.5 and the restore failed. Restored to 5.0.1 and it went fine, except the ipad is now a wifi-only device. The cellular hardware did not initialize and does not show up in device settings anywhere. It behaves exactly as a wifi only ipad and works fine otherwise. Also removed and replaced SIM card and restored 5.0.1 again with no change. Restarts without error, except cellular hardware still seems gone. No difference if I remove the SIM card.

Any thoughts? Is there some other factory hard-reset I can try? It is not under warranty anymore so hoping I can troubleshoot this myself.
