Help! :(

I've lost my contacts after flashing my 3G 3.0 to a custom image 3.1 and I setup the phone as new. Is there any way I could get back all my contacts?

Thanks.

I did try a restore from a backup on iTunes, didn't help.

I don't have a Mac. Sorry.

That sucks!

I have MobileMe and it saves all your contacts. You should look into getting mobileme in the future! :)

Can you downgrade back to the version you were on before, and try to restore to that? If that works, then you can tell iTunes to sync your contacts with the Windows Address Book on your PC. Then upgrade to the custom rom, and if they're gone, you can resync them from Address Book.

How would I know if a backup exists for that version without downgrading it first? Is it possible to check it in the registry?

Thanks

I'm not sure. When you said "I did try a restore from a backup on iTunes", I thought that was a backup you did right before you upgraded. Sorry. :(

So, you don't have a Mac? Why didn't you sync your contacts to Outlook? Or at least Windows Address Book?

In the future do that. Also look into using Funambol, which gives you an online source, so you have two methods to get your contacts back.

You could also use Yahoo's Contacts to sync to, it's an option in iTunes, and supports multiple #'s for same person, etc
