Lost contacts

Recently I lost few contacts from my iPhone. This is due to my minimal knowledge on the usage. Any idea on getters by them back ?? Please help

I have contacts in my iPhone and the iCloud contacts sync was selected. I have some other backup file and then I took a backup of it. Later I deleted few manually because of duplicates. Sometime ago I was shocked to see some contacts are missing. How do I take them? Even the count of contacts in iPhone and iCloud is same.
