I lost weeks of notes for one of my classes. I don't know why, or how it happened. What I know is that when I go to open recent, the message that pops up is: Microsoft cannot locate so and so file, would you like to?

I don't know what to do. I need these notes, and have no idea where to find them or what to do.

Please please please help.

While they may be gone from the recent items menu, that doesn't necessarily mean they're gone from your Mac. Use Finder to search for the files.

i've done this several times. they can't be found anywhere.

they were in the notebook layout, and i don't know if that effects things. But they're no longer where i had once put them.

If you can't locate them with a Finder search, it appears they're gone. If you did the Finder search properly, it would have located them anywhere on your computer.
