Weird. I just tried moving a couple of folders on a network connected Linux samba server using drag and drop up a folder and they just disappeared instead.
ie moving f3 and f4 to f1 expecting f3, f4 and f2 all together
f1/f2/f3
-----/f4
expecting
f1/f2
--/f3
--/f4
got
f1/f2
Has anyone got any clues on this.
Tried rebooting my fileserver and Mac but still gone.
Did a
find / -name \*[Nn]ame\*
on the fileserver and got all sorts of interesting stuff with the name "Name" in it but not the missing files.
I've been using this fileserver for years without a problem in a mircosoft environment but first time via Mac OS and bingo problems :-(
Got backups so not so bad but having these sorts of errors is a huge problem.
