Lost+Found directory after a disk repair

Okay I repaired my disk today (onyxs advice) and it mentioned the lost+found directory. Rebooted, checked it out and it has two empty folders. Do I assume from this it didn't actually have to move any files at all and that all my stuff will be where it was before (not a big issue I have time machine running).

Also I gained about 2gb of free space is this usual?
