Lost icons on top 'toolbar' and in Finder. Can't get them back by shutting down MacBook Pro (Summer 2012) or with command: killall SystemUIServer
All the icons are there in other logins. The 'icons' work when clicked on, but never appear. I lost them after my laptop froze and I had to shut down by holding the power button.

If you have timemachine local snapshots enabled (I think it is by default) you could try restoring to a point prior to the issue appearing.

If it works with other Users, that User Account is corrupt, perhaps stating the obvious. You could beat that dead horse and see no change, or you could get lucky and find the culprit, or you could just migrate your files to a new account and delete the corrupt one. Choice 3 will take the least time.
