So I work at a school and someone lost their iphone. We found it and no one has come looking for it for 2 weeks now. There is a passcode on it so we can't call whoever it is. Is there a way to find the owner?

Ok sorry I didn't see it, but it is an ipod touch and not an iphone.
Is there any way apple can tell me the owner by sn#

Is it just me or has their been a unusually large amount of threads lately with people finding lost iPhones, iPod touches, and even a Macbook.

Hmm.. believe me or not. I really do have it here and honestly trying to get it to the owner.
We were thinking about putting a notice out and if they know the passcode its theirs, but doesn't it auto restore after so many failed attempts at the password? I can see a bunch of students lining up just to try and see if they get lucky.

Perhaps if you return it to Apple they will track down the owner and ship it to them?
