My friend lost his ipod touch 4g 64GB, but he can't find it. I think it may have been stolen. His ipod touch is password protected, I was wondering is there anyway to track it down?

His windows live messenger is online on his ipod touch, I see it on my MSN. He is not online on this PC, so that mean his windows live messenger is online on his lost ipod touch.

Does he have any personal data on it?

I doubt he'll get it back, unless someone just happens to know that he has lost one and they find it. I wouldn't count on it.

So there is no way of tracking it, even though his stolen ipod touch has windows live messenger online?

Hi.

It is possible to track down the iPod Touch, if your friend had a mobile me account with "find my iphone" activated.

Since he has an iPod Touch 4G, he could create a mobile me account with "find my iPhone" for free. With this, he can track down, lock or send a message to the iPod wherever it is, if it has an internet connection.

PS: Sorry about my bad English.. I am Portuguese!

Does he have wi-fi at his house? If I remember correctly there is a way to tell what wireless device are connected to your wifi.
