Lost iTunes account access

Does anyone know how to get access to iTunes App Store that I purchased from my old iTunes account? I recently moved to another country and closed my USA iTunes account as I no longer have a USA credit card. Now I am stuck and unable to update all the Apps that were purchased from that store.

If I recreate a new account from that same store it does not recognise me.

I'd imagine you'll get much better answers from apple rather than an internet forum for a question like that!

Umm, if you change the location in iTunes to USA surley you can log into your account with your details, even if you can't buy new things with the expired old credit card!

Or did you re-associate the account with a non-USA credit card?
