Not sure if I ever even had it, but I have an original Retina MacBook Pro. I got it the day it came out. Wasn't it launched along with OS 10.8? For some reason I'm on 10.7.5...

Is there a way for me to get 10.8, if I am supposed to have it?

You never had it. Nothing would downgrade you to a former OS. You can upgrade via the App Store.

I think I have figured out what I did that downgraded me. I was able to login to my old Apple ID however and the download for Mountain Lion was waiting there free of charge. Serves me right for messing with the recovery partition I suppose.

Glad I got it figured out. :)
