I have a strange problem which has recently started happening.

I have all my movies / TV shows stored on a Time Capsule under the lounge TV. Both in iTunes and the Apple TV I am missing covers  The only way I have found to get them back is to click 'Get Info', but I don't really want to do this for all the files.

Firstly is there an automatic way to 're-build' the iTunes library so all covers reappear?

Secondly, how do I stop this happening again in the future?

What happens when you choose Get Album Artwork from the menu? I believe it goes and looks through your whole library and matches them up.

Nothing happens at all when I do that.

It's really odd that when I right mouse on a movie and click 'Get Info' the Cover art reappears for the selected file.

I had a quick Google and there are sporadic reports of the same thing happening, but no one has an answer on how to fix.

If simply clicking on get info retrieves the artwork, why not just select all of them and then click "get info?" That way, you could do it all at once.

Tried that already. Doesn't work.

Thanks for responding though.

Right. I think I may have sorted it.

Close iTunes and then go to ~/Music/iTunes/Album Artwork/Cache and delete the contents. Empty the Trash and then open iTunes again.

iTunes will rebuild the library and you should be sorted!
