Lost my iphone software

Help i was doing a full system restore to try and fix a problem but the wire fell out during it meaning my phone has no software and itunes does not recognise it and finish the restore, how do i get my phone back? please help

Hook it up back to iTunes. Hold down the power and home buttons until the iPhone turns back on. When you see the Apple come on let go of the power and keep holding the home button.

Restore.

Use Tinyumbrella (google it) to kick it from the Recovery mode.

OR

Put it in DFU Mode and do the restore from the beginning.

You are a star my friend thank you. Any ideas howe i can get my contacts back? i backed them up before then tried the new phone reset and im hoping i can go back to an older back up?

simply put it in DFU mode (google it if you dont know what that it) and restore it again.
