Lost my Lock Screen Menu

We have 3 girls in the house that we keep off our iMac in the kitchen. Mama & I use the lock screen feature. While locking the screen this afternoon-the Lock Screen icon and menu disappeared from the menu bar.
I have done a restart, checked and unchecked and rechecked the box for the service....apple menu>sys prefs>security>general>"require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver"

I can't remember how to get the lock icon and menu back onto the main menu bar. Could someone help me out?
