Lost my Mail on Ipad 1

Help, I lost my incoming/outgoing mail on Ipad 1 and didn't do anything new. How can I get it back? I tried resyncing and also shutting off the IPad but nothing worked.

Have you tried re entering the email info and just starting the account over inside the iPad? It should repopulate all the older Emails.
