I lost my restore DVDs for my C2D Macbook. I have the restore DVDs for my older CD macbook but when i try to use those it give me the message "ALERT, this software cannot be installed on this computer".

Is there a difference between the CD and the C2D restore DVD? Can I walk into Apple Mac Genius bar and ask them to barrow a copy so I can restore my macbook? I do have any warranty left on it.

Thanks any help is appreciated.

Clearly there's a difference between the discs if one set won't work on your machine. Talk to your local Apple Store or reseller and hopefully they'll be able to help you out. I have a feeling Apple will even ship you a replacement set for a small fee. :)

Yes you are correct. I also lost my PB cd's and gave AC a call and they charged my 45.00 to get them. I would also go to a store a ask a genius to see if they will give you a free copy
