Hi all, can someone help. I have lost the address bar in Safari. Everything else is there, bookmark, search etc but not address. Tried reseting, tried customise ( its not in the default bar either).... I've run out of ideas... help ???
Thanks

I'm not saying it will fix the problem, but it is worth trying (if you haven't already):

[1] Quit Safari (make sure no Dock indicator shows)

[2] In Finder choose "Go > Go to Folder".

[3] Paste or type this in:
~/Library/Preferences/

[3] Find this file:
com.apple.Safari.plist
(arrange the contents of the folder by name if it help locate it:
View > Arrange By > Name)

[4] Drag the file found in the previous step to the desktop

[5] Launch Safari.

If it doesn't fix the problem, reverse the process (drag com.apple.Safari.plist back into the preferences folder and relaunch Safari) to get your preferences back.

Thankyou so much for the tips. I tried both versions and still no luck. Any other ideas welcome. S

Try opening Safari, going to View>Customize Toolbar. That will bring up this box:

Then drag Bookmark, Address and Search to your toolbar in Safari. That should restore it. Hope this helps.
