Lost “speak” selection in Pages

iPad running iPadOS 16.

I have lost the option to have Siri read selected speech in Pages:

And no, there is no “speak” option after the arrow.

I still have this option in Safari:

I also have the option in Mail. And in a number of third party apps.

But not in Pages or Numbers, which is a real pain.

So my Accessibility Settings seem to be set up correctly for some apps but not others?

What am I doing wrong in Pages and Numbers?
