Hi all,

I set up my new iphone 12 pro max last night, coming from an iphone X. I did the quick start guide, where you scanned the old phone with your new phone, but then to actually add all the old apps, photos, etc, I chose from iCloud backup.

However, when I did this, several items started using way more storage than what I was using on my old iphone. Previously I was using ~63GB of space, now I'm using 81GB (and haven't added anything new).

The two things that increased significantly were:

1) Other- went from 8.59GB to 26.82GB

2) Messages- went from 1.02gb to 1.66gb

What should I do?

thanks.

EDIT: After updating my new phone to iOS 14.2, I got some, but not all of my "other" stoarge back. Now my other stoarge is 14.54gb instead of 26.82. Still, this is significantly higher than on my old phone. What should I do?
