Lost Trash

For some reason the Trash icon no longer appears on my Desktop. Any idea how to get it back?

You mean your dock? Did you remove it from your dock? (I don't think thats possible easily)

My Dock has a Trash icon.

You mean to tell me it was never on the Finder desktop?

I occasionally fire up Path Finder, and its desktop does have a Trash icon.

Sorry, I am not used to the Finder being called the "desktop", but I just opened up my Finder and there is no trash icon. So I guess there isn't one in Tiger.
