lost wired connection; wireless OK

Hello,

The other day while working at home, I was suddenly and inexplicably unable to get online using my ethernet connection, but my wireless connection was and is OK. At my job location, I am also unable to connect through the ethernet, so it's not just a problem with my router.

What could have happened, and how can I fix it?

It's fixed. Somehow the permissions got out of whack (maybe during last weekend's update). Repaired them and I'm back on a wired connection.
