Hi

My son has a Mac Book Pro 13" mid 2012 with its original HDD and an upgraded RAM to 8 GB (Crucial) running Maverick

Few months ago he damaged his laptop's body in an accident. Since then he have been using with no issues despite the fact the in addition the Ethernet port was not functioning.

I recently bought used the same model with a dead mother board (liquid spillage I think, some marks were by its usb ports, firewire 800 as well as around the battery connector).

My goal was to swap the mother board from his computer to the one with a good body and a dead mother board.

Th process was easier than I thought.

However when it started the keyboard was not responding, I have installed the zif cable correctly At least I think.

Another thing was that once I turned it off it would not restart unless I disconnect and reconnect the battery
(which right now the main problem)

I assume that resetting the SMC will help but with no keyboard, how to do it on this model?

I am lost, thanks for your answers.
