iPod touch Lots of dust under 2g screen - what can I do?

So I've had this touch for a couple of years and it's been acquiring a lot of dust under the glass.
I doubt apple will cover it, as it is way over the warranty.
What can I do? It's basically unusable in direct sunlight.

Im having the exact same problem. The best they offered for me at the Apple store was 20% off of the out of warranty replacement cost, which is $99.

The dust could be coming from two places: Either A, the seal on your ipod is broken or damaged, thus letting dust in, or B, pocket lint is getting inside via one of the ports, usually either the headphone jack/sync slot. Either way, it's rather tough to get the screen off without damaging something (the digitizer seems to always be a popular one), so I'd let apple handle it. Some 3rd party companies may fix it for you, so I'd look into that as well.
