Lots of jet black pick ups

Went to pick up my jet black 7 plus in Canada and there were 5 people near me, 1 had reserved a matte black Plus and 4 had reserved a jet black plus.

Saw an Apple employee carrying a stack of black iPhone boxes and knew something was up.

The Apple employee told me that they had gotten a shipment of jet blacks and were pretty surprised. This might prove that jet blacks might stop being as rare from now on at least in big city stores.

I think it's slightly more odd that the pre-orders haven't been fulfilled in Canada but there is JB + stock coming into the stores.

I noticed on the US JB + posts that people that pre-ordered later at like XX:15 or later have already received their phones. Some Canadians are still waiting for their pre-orders even though they secured a phone at like XX:06...

No idea what's happening really

It kinda happened right from the get go. I was able to get a phone 9/17 without a preorder
 
I was able to pickup a jet black plus 256 GB with a reservation yesterday. Although I didn't see it on istocknow. I just caught it by refreshing at random times throughout the day. Makes no sense that people are waiting weeks on their preorder but stores are getting occasional stock.

It's the same every year. If your preorder is a couple of months away, you'll almost always get it beforehand if you track store inventory.

The strange part is that I find istocknow at times is off. I have seen instances where it reported stock for a few minutes at a location which wasn't there and other times where stock was available but hadn't showed up on the istocknow live map. It could be a timing issue. With people sniping reservations so quickly, it might be tough to monitor.

In the end I just manually checked the apple reservation site every once in a while and had better success.
