Hey guys.

Just wanted to ask a question here. My dad converted to Mac a while back, but he can't seem to get used to IBM Lotus Symphony. He wants his old Lotus SmartSuite back, and so I'm just exploring the various avenues in which this can be done. Is there a possibility of running this without putting on Windows? Say, Put it on top of CodeWeaver's Crossover, or Wine?

Anyone have any experience with any of this?

Any help would be appreciated

The older the app, the higher the likelihood it will run under wine/crossover. The virtual machine is a win2000 box. MS Office 97 works fine in that environment and since lotus smartsuite is of the same vintage, I would be cautiously optimistic. I would go over to the Crossover web site and search for the app on their list. If it says it "runs without errors" then it's worth a try. If it merely "loads but does not run", you might consider using Parallels to infest your OS X box with a windows partition (and you will need a legit copy of windows as much as it saddens me to see more money go M$). I know. Yuck.

In the off-chance that anyone is interested. I bit the bullet and bought CrossOver. His Lotus SmartSuite Millenium Edition v9.6 works like a dream :D
