That's not my video, but that is what is happening to my macbook. usually happens when i'm playing flash video. my applecare is expired so i'm hoping there is either a way to fix the problem myself or apple is kind enough to fix it for free. this seems to be a common problem but i looked around the net and couldn't find any solutions. thanks for any help!

tried it and doesn't work.

it sounds like my old Chevy Aveo at 55mph...

i almost threw my macbook and jumped for cover when i first heard that. i would hate to be on a plane and have that happen.

i just reset my PRAM and watched a youtube video which (of course) pushed my computer to the limit. the fan was running at 6200rpm but wasn't making that awful noise so i'm guessing resetting the PRAM may have done the trick. i was almost positive it was a hardware issue.

i have the exact same problem.
They replaced my fan, 2 weeks later the trouble started again.

Its so so loud...its annoying

I had the same exact sound. Went to Genius and they fixed it within 10 minutes (luckily they had an extra pair of fans in the store).

Few months after, I now have a humming noise.
But anyway, go get it fixed.
