For the last couple hours, I'll be doing some work, and then the fans come on, softly, then gradually get louder and louder until they are really quite loud. every time this has happened I've put it to sleep so that the fans go off. is this normal? Is it just that I'm pushing it to hard? All i was doing was put album art into itunes. Anyway, what should I do if this situation is normal?

What sort of Mac is it? Macs are meant to fall asleep before they get to the point of overheating so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Don't worry too much it just your fan kicking in to cool things down. Computers are made for the tough so compute on
