Question for anyone and everyone, I just got a new Power Mac G4 1GHZ. FW 800(Mirrored doors) One question, Is there a way to tone down the volume on the startup tone? It is loud enough to wake up the neighbors. I don't have any external speakers, just the one in the case. Thanks

The volume of the startup chime is indicative of the volume level upon the last shutdown. Simply turn down your computer before shutting it off. You could make an applescript to mute it and toss it in the shutdown folder as well.

Thanks for the info. I'm not new to macs but my last mac was a beige G3 266 so I really like the new and improved G4's .
