I primary shuffle local music (local meaning on my phone, none of my music is on the watch itself), and take full advantage of the "Love" toggle to create playlists. After iOS 9 the "Love" toggle was buried in the "..." menu in the Music app and removed from the lock screen and now playing screen, which was very annoying.

When I bought my Series 4 I was pleased to see I could "Love" songs from my watch, which was much easier than finding the "Love" toggle buried on my phone, especially when driving or running. This worked perfectly with Watch OS 5 and iOS 12. Some combination of Watch OS 6 and/or iOS 13 broke this feature. After updating to Watch OS 6 and iOS 13 (done the same day), that "Love" feature broke. If I selected "Love" on my watch, it did not transfer to my phone library, and songs that were already "Loved" on my phone don't show as being so on the watch. However, skipping tracks, pausing, etc all work from the Watch. I submitted Apple Watch feedback on the official form.

Just updated to iOS 14 and Watch OS 7 yesterday hoping this issue was finally fixed but the issue persists. Can anyone with a local music library please test and see if it's the same for you. Play any local library song on your phone that's not "Loved" already and then view the Now Playing on your Watch, you should see the track information, hit the "..." and select "Love" then go check the "..." on your phone and see if the song was actually "Loved". Same way for a song you already have "Loved" on the phone, play it and check your watch to see if the song shows as "Loved".

Thank you.

Well I have just done that with my local watch music library and yeah it synced across to my iphone as a LOVED. Cant see any "easy" way to check the reverse is true as there doesnt seem to be a smart LOVED playlist on the watch itself to check...
